CIT vs. the Competition
CIT is not the cheapest website design or software design company; the cheapest are generally based in India and Pakistan. Since
you as a customer have no way of knowing what else an Asian-designed cheap website or software is doing (like infecting your
customers' computers and collecting credit card numbers), you might not want to consider that option. Don't trust people
if they know that neither you nor the police know where they live - just saying...

We try to work in the $25-$55 an hour range. Sometimes we bid a fixed cost website and underestimate how long it will take; that is our
problem. Sometimes we overestimate; that is your good fortune too, because you will get a discount. We do not believe in surprises on an
invoice.
For general reference, here is

the Town of Preston CT's website that cost $12,000. We know the price
because the customer (the City) bragged on the internet about the price in a Google Alert. The price surprised us, we
would have bid much less.
Regardless of the price, you are going to get something attractive, like the picture on the right.

CIT vs. Do-It-Yourself
There are many ways to create your own website but they all usually result in something like the picture on the left - a mess.
Rather than do it yourself, you can pay CIT Services $350 - $750 and we will create a website that can be found in Google. We will give you free
hosting for a year and we will maintain your website (minor changes) for a year. After the first year you pay half the original cost for
the same hosting, promotion and maintenance. We think this is a bargain compared with you wasting hundreds of hours to tell your
customers that your company is a mess.

The bottom line: how much a website actually costs
You should expect to pay about $500 for a CIT website or $350 to refurbish an existing website. If
you want a logo designed, eCommerce or a database behind the website, it may be more, but not much. We hope that we can save you some money and
time on your website, but more importantly we expect to deliver a safe and an effective website - one that is worth your investment.
